Students will develop computer communication skills necessary for success in their post-secondary pursuits -- college or the workplace. One goal is to master the keyboard using the touch method.
Students will learn and apply the advanced functionality of the MS Office and Google suites. MS Word and Google docs will be used to assemble data, format letters and reports, cite references, and prepare tables. Advanced features including mail merge, template construction, and the development of forms will also be explored. Students will learn to utilize MS Excel for data analysis and to create pivot charts and graphs. Formal presentation skills will be taught using PowerPoint and Prezei as the associated electronic media. Relational databases will also be introduced through Access.
